Love hate relationship with this book
The slipper of a prophet has been stolen and brought to a museum. The followers of that prophet seek to retrieve that slipper, and will stop at nothing to do it, including murder. Professor Cavanagh becomes the keeper of that slipper and finds himself pursued by thieves, religious fanatics, and a mysterious woman with violet eyes.
I liked the mystery of this book, and I liked the reader, the book was wonderfully read. I found some of the scenes annoying because the hero was a bit of a clodpole at times. All in all it was a mostly good book with a neat ending.
Kudos to the reader for her excellent voice which fit in well with the tone of the story. A mildly tinny sound on the recording; GE filtered it out fine.
